Teeth whitening, often called “bleaching” is another service available to patients. We use a system patients can take home and control on their own, reducing the cost significantly from in-office whitening.
Although we cannot always predict the outcome, it is likely a patient will see 4-10 shades lighter and whiter results from this type of treatment.
Whitening trays will not lighten existing dental work such as crowns, bridges, fillings or partials. Therefore a patient should stop when the natural teeth reach the shade of existing visible dental work. It is unrealistic to expect teeth will be of a pure white shade from whitening.
Whitening will remove stains brought on by smoking, coffee, tea, and soda. Discoloration from medications will not be affected by teeth whitening (this can be improved with veneers) Each patient will be fitted with a custom-made tray and will be given enough bleach to last approximately 1-2 weeks. Instructions will be provided on how to use the bleach and what to expect.
